Mizoram Governor General Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd) expressed confidence in the significant contribution of women in advancing initiatives for a developed Mizoram, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed India by 2047. He commended the Mizo Hmeichhe Insuihkhawm Pawl (MHIP) on its 52nd Foundation Day, acknowledging its dedication to serving women and society since its establishment in 1974 with a focus on rights, welfare, and cultural preservation.
Governor Singh highlighted MHIP’s long-standing efforts in advocating for women’s rights, combating discrimination, and driving reforms in legal frameworks. He emphasized the organization’s impact through education, health awareness, legal aid, and social services, empowering numerous women and families across Mizoram. Recognizing MHIP’s commitment to women’s welfare and empowerment, he lauded its receipt of the Nari Shakti Puraskar in 2016 as a testament to its valuable contributions to society.
Expressing optimism in MHIP’s continued collaboration with the government and various stakeholders, Governor Singh underscored the pivotal role of women in family and societal development. He encouraged MHIP members to actively participate in initiatives aimed at advancing a developed Mizoram, aligning with the broader goal of a developed India by 2047. The Governor extended his best wishes to MHIP for its ongoing success and future endeavors in service and empowerment.
