Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK Chief M.K. Stalin is set to launch his campaign for the Assembly elections starting from Tiruvarur, a constituency closely linked to his father, former CM M. Karunanidhi. The choice of Tiruvarur for the campaign kickoff holds both political and symbolic importance for the DMK, given Karunanidhi’s past representation of the constituency in previous elections.

The campaign launch in Tiruvarur is viewed by party leaders as a reiteration of the DMK’s core values and historical significance, aimed at motivating party workers ahead of the crucial electoral battle. Stalin is scheduled to address a significant public gathering near the Tiruvarur Thyagarajaswamy Temple on South Street, with expectations of a large turnout from the delta region, a traditional DMK stronghold.

Stalin’s campaign itinerary for the first day includes visiting various constituencies in and around Tiruvarur district, such as Mannargudi, Tiruvarur, Kizhvelur, Nannilam, and Thiruthuraipoondi. This intensive schedule underscores the party’s emphasis on strengthening support in the Cauvery delta region, which plays a pivotal role in determining electoral outcomes.

The DMK leader’s campaign will continue on April 1, with plans to engage voters in Tiruchi and Karur districts, followed by a campaign in western Tamil Nadu on April 2, covering key constituencies in Erode and Coimbatore districts. The phased rollout of the campaign highlights the DMK’s strategy to maintain momentum across diverse regions of the state.

Stalin’s statewide outreach is expected to focus on governance achievements, welfare programs, and future development plans, as the DMK aims to secure victory in the upcoming Assembly elections. The launch of Stalin’s campaign signifies the start of an aggressive mobilization effort as political activities intensify in Tamil Nadu in the lead-up to polling.
