Samarth Singh, the husband of model-turned-actor Twisha Sharma and the main suspect in her alleged suicide, has been placed in police remand for seven days by a Bhopal district court. He was taken into custody from Jabalpur and appeared in court under tight security. Before the court hearing, Samarth underwent a mandatory medical examination at Jai Prakash (J.P.) Hospital.
The court premises saw heavy police presence to manage the crowd and ensure order due to the high public interest in the case. Samarth was securely escorted into the courtroom of Judicial Magistrate Anudita Gupta. The court granted a seven-day police custody remand after his appearance around 3:15 p.m.
Bhopal Police Commissioner Sanjay Singh mentioned that Samarth was brought to Bhopal from Jabalpur late on Friday night after his detention. Authorities are determined to take strict action against anyone who aided Samarth during his 10-day disappearance following Twisha Sharma’s death. Allegations of dowry harassment against Samarth and his family have triggered public outrage.
