Residents in Namakkal, Salem, Tiruchirappalli, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Kallakurichi, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, and Mayiladuthurai are cautioned about heavy rainfall and strong winds on Tuesday. Ramanathapuram district anticipates intense weather with heavy rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms. Chennai is likely to have partly cloudy skies with high temperatures around 39 degrees Celsius.
The recent temperature surge in Tamil Nadu follows a period of milder weather. Nagapattinam recorded the highest temperature at 40 degrees Celsius, with Madurai and Tiruchirappalli close behind. Locations like Madurai Airport, Cuddalore, and Thanjavur also experienced oppressive heat. Meteorologists warn of thundercloud formation due to high temperatures, potentially leading to scattered rainfall in the interior districts.
