In a significant development, the Divisional Commissioner in Uttar Pradesh has temporarily halted the demolition order against 38 buildings at Mohammad Ali Jauhar University, established by Azam Khan, a leader of the Samajwadi Party. The Rampur district administration has been instructed to maintain the current state until the next hearing, preventing the demolition of the campus structures.

The controversy surrounding Jauhar University arose when the Rampur Development Authority raised concerns about numerous violations within the campus, alleging that 38 out of 40 buildings were constructed without the necessary approvals. The university was given a deadline by the RDA to remove these buildings, or else the district administration would intervene to demolish them.

Recently, a group of Samajwadi Party leaders and supporters protested in Ayodhya against the order to demolish 38 buildings at Jauhar University. They handed over a memorandum to the District Magistrate, urging the President of India to intervene and stop the planned demolition. The protestors emphasized the importance of following legal procedures and allowing all parties to present their arguments.

Amid the demonstrations, former minister Tej Narayan Pandey criticized the government, accusing it of targeting educational institutions out of political motives. Pandey stressed the need for rectifying any technical or documentation issues instead of resorting to demolishing the university buildings. He highlighted the contradiction between aspiring to be a global leader while neglecting the importance of education and knowledge.
