Mohammed Siraj, Kagiso Rabada, and Rashid Khan each took three wickets, helping Gujarat Titans secure an 89-run win against Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This victory also ensured Gujarat Titans’ top-two finish in the IPL 2026 points table.
Chennai Super Kings, the five-time champions, were knocked out of the playoffs race following the defeat. Gujarat Titans posted a formidable total of 229/4, powered by fifties from B. Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill, and Jos Buttler. In response, CSK faltered, getting bowled out for just 140 in 13.4 overs as Siraj (3-26) and Rabada (3-32) excelled with the ball, supported by Rashid’s 3-18.
CSK’s chase never gained momentum, with early dismissals including Sanju Samson, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Urvil Patel leaving them struggling at 31/3. Despite brief resistance from Matthew Short and later Shivam Dube’s aggressive 47 off 17 balls, CSK’s lower order collapsed under pressure. Rashid Khan’s crucial wickets and Rabada’s late strikes sealed the emphatic win for Gujarat Titans.
Gujarat Titans’ comprehensive victory not only secured their top-two spot but also granted them an additional opportunity to play the final in Ahmedabad on May 31.
