Malayalam cinema superstar Mohanlal will be the chief guest at the 64th State School Arts Festival’s grand finale in Thrissur, Kerala. The festival, a significant cultural event for students, will see the Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Assembly, V. D. Satheesan, inaugurate the valedictory ceremony at 4 p.m. The event, held in Thrissur this year, has featured colorful performances, intense competition, and high public engagement.
The festival, nearing its end, has only eight competitions left, intensifying the race for the prestigious Golden Cup. The current points table shows a tight competition, with Kannur leading at 990 points, followed closely by Thrissur at 983 points. Palakkad and Kozhikode hold the third and fourth positions, respectively, with minimal point differences among the top four districts.
As the competition heats up, schools are fiercely competing for every point, with the final events expected to impact the rankings significantly. The winner of the festival may only be determined in the final moments, creating suspense and excitement among participants and observers. While northern districts aim to maintain their dominance, central and southern Kerala districts are striving for a strong comeback on the concluding day.
In a touching moment, students from Vellarmala School in Wayanad, recovering from a devastating landslide, participated in the Vanchippattu competition, symbolizing resilience. With anticipation building up for the closing ceremony and the announcement of this year’s champions, excitement is palpable across Kerala among students, teachers, and parents.
