Host Morocco triumphed over Cameroon 2-0, with Brahim Diaz and Ismael Saibari scoring the crucial goals. Morocco, the top-ranked African nation and 2022 World Cup semifinalists, aim to clinch the title after 50 years. Coach Walid Regragui expressed optimism about their chances but emphasized the need to stay focused on each game.

In another match, Senegal defeated Mali 1-0, courtesy of Iliman Ndiaye’s goal. Mali faced challenges after Yves Bissouma’s dismissal in added time of the first half. Senegal will now await the winner between Egypt and Côte d’Ivoire for their next game.

The Africa Cup of Nations will see Morocco facing the winner of Algeria versus Nigeria, while Senegal prepares to battle either Egypt or Côte d’Ivoire. The tournament’s excitement continues as the remaining semifinal spots will be determined soon.
