Moscow is currently reviewing a peace proposal regarding Ukraine, presented by a Russian special envoy after discussions with US officials. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov mentioned that the information shared by Kirill Dmitriev, Russia’s special presidential representative for investment and economic cooperation, during his meeting in Miami is under scrutiny. Peskov stated that further consultations with the US will be based on the decision made by the Head of State.
Peskov also informed that Dmitriev had briefed Russian President Vladimir Putin about the outcomes of his visit to Miami. Delegations from Russia and Ukraine separately engaged in discussions with the US in Florida recently. Dmitriev, as reported by the Russian news agency Sputnik, highlighted that the Russia-US talks remained unaffected by “warmongers” attempting to disrupt them.
Moreover, the Russian Defence Ministry announced that units from its Southern Group of Forces successfully secured control over the settlement of Sviato-Pokrovske in the Donetsk region. The ministry reported the downing of six aerial bombs, a US-made HIMARS rocket, and 472 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles by Russian air defence systems within the special military operation zone over the past 24 hours.
Additionally, authorities in the Krasnodar region revealed that two oil storage tanks in the southern Russian port of Temryuk caught fire due to a drone attack, causing no casualties. The firefighting efforts involve 70 personnel and 18 pieces of equipment, with the total fire area estimated at around 2,000 square meters. Another drone strike targeted the village of Nikolaevka, damaging various industrial structures and farm equipment in the region.
In separate incidents, Ukrainian drones attacked the port of Taman in the Volna settlement, resulting in damage to two piers, two tankers, and two storage tanks from intercepted drones. Both Temryuk and Taman are crucial Black Sea seaports essential for Russia’s oil and petroleum exports.
