Hasi Rani Rath, mother of Chandranath Rath, the former personal assistant to Suvendu Adhikari, attributed her son’s tragic fate to his role in Adhikari’s victory over Mamata Banerjee in the Bhabanipur Assembly constituency during the recent West Bengal elections. She highlighted the inflammatory remarks made by Trinamool Congress leaders during the election campaign as a contributing factor to her son’s untimely demise.
Chandranath Rath, who not only served as Adhikari’s aide but also played a crucial role in managing campaign affairs in Bhabanipur, was reportedly targeted due to his involvement in the electoral successes of Adhikari. Rath’s mother expressed concerns over the safety of BJP workers post-election, citing threats issued by the previous ruling party leaders.
Despite her grief, Rath’s mother refrained from seeking capital punishment for her son’s killers, instead urging the new state government to ensure strict legal consequences for the perpetrators. She emphasized the importance of holding the guilty parties accountable through appropriate legal measures.
