Bhopal/Barwani, Aug 15 (IANS) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has reviewed healthcare services for pregnant women, children and sickle cell patients in a remote area of Barwani district and directed officials to ensure regular monitoring and timely treatment of vulnerable beneficiaries.

During inspection on Friday, the Chief Minister sought details from the Community Health Officer about pregnant women in the area, their regular health check-ups and the identification and monitoring of high-risk pregnancies.

He also enquired about the number of sickle cell patients in the area and sought information about their treatment and regular health monitoring.

Chief Minister Yadav examined a health-service map prepared by the Antara Foundation.

The map carries details of pregnant women, high-risk pregnant women and children and identifies sickle cell patients and cases of malnutrition.

Chief Minister Yadav stressed that such mapping should be used effectively to identify vulnerable beneficiaries and ensure that they receive healthcare services on time.

“Ensuring healthcare facilities in remote rural areas is a priority of the state government. There must be continuous monitoring of pregnant women, children, sickle cell patients and malnourished children,” CM Yadav said.

He also reviewed the entry of health-related information on the ‘Anmol’ portal and sought details about services for pregnant women and children, vaccination and availability of medicines.

The Community Health Officer told the Chief Minister that health-related data was being regularly entered on the portal and essential medicines were available at the centre.

Chief Minister Yadav also reviewed healthcare activities being carried out under the ‘Green Commando’ campaign in remote areas of the Pati region.

“Health service mapping should be used effectively so that people who need healthcare can be identified and provided services on time,” he said.

He directed health staff to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive timely health check-ups, treatment, medicines and other essential services.

The Jan Vishwas Abhiyan envisages field visits on Fridays by Ministers and senior officials to review the implementation of government schemes and public services and interact directly with people.

The Barwani visit was part of the second Friday of the campaign.
