After the murder of dacoit Jagan Gurjar in Ajmer High Security Jail, Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal expressed concerns about the prison administration and security measures. Beniwal emphasized the need for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry, stating that the incident could not have occurred without internal collaboration within the prison system.
Beniwal questioned the circumstances surrounding the murder, highlighting the alleged disabling of CCTV cameras and emphasized the necessity of an impartial investigation to reveal the truth. He raised doubts about a single inmate overpowering and killing Jagan Gurjar, stressing the need for a thorough probe to address unanswered questions.
The MP urged for a CBI investigation to uncover the truth, suggesting that senior officials in the jail department, police, and government might be implicated. He pointed out lapses in security and functioning at one of Rajasthan’s most secure prisons, calling for accountability and transparency in the investigation process.
Beniwal also expressed concerns over rising criminal activities originating from Rajasthan’s prisons, including threats to officials, extortion, drug trafficking, and organized crime. He highlighted the challenges to law and order posed by criminal elements operating from within the prison system, urging for immediate action to address the situation.
