Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) Chairman Vivek Bhimanwar announced that all future MPSC preliminary exams will be conducted through Computer-Based Testing (CBT) to benefit candidates. The Commission aims to streamline exam processes and ensure timely recruitment completion to address delays candidates have faced in result declarations and recruitment stages. Preliminary exam results will now be declared within 21 days, with a commitment to completing the entire recruitment process within the same calendar year as the exam.
Bhimanwar emphasized that the move to CBT mode applies solely to preliminary exams, with no changes planned for this year’s Main Examinations for State Services and other posts. He highlighted the efficiency and acceptance of the CBT system, citing successful implementations by various agencies like the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB). The adoption of CBT is expected to enhance transparency, speed, and efficiency in the examination process, reducing delays and providing certainty to candidates.
The Chairman also assured that the selection process for posts requiring interviews will be completed within 9 to 11 months, while recruitment for positions with only a written exam will be finalized within six to seven months. The decision to implement CBT is based on proven systems that have been legally upheld and widely used in the country, ensuring a smoother and more time-bound recruitment process for aspiring candidates.
