Mukesh Singh has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) for Ladakh, taking over from S.D. Singh Jamwal, who will now serve as DGP of Arunachal Pradesh. The Union Home Ministry issued an order announcing the reshuffle of IPS officers from the AGMUT cadre with immediate effect. Mukesh Singh, an officer from the J&K cadre, holds a B.Tech in civil engineering from IIT Delhi and has served in various key roles, including as IGP of Jammu Zone.
S.D. Singh Jamwal, who holds a PhD in bio-terrorism, is recognized for his expertise in disaster management, particularly in biological defense. He has been instrumental in modernizing police stations and enhancing community engagement. Having assumed the position of Ladakh Police Chief in mid-2023, Jamwal has been honored for his disaster response efforts and is dedicated to training police for challenging situations, in addition to overseeing local policing and infrastructure development in Ladakh.
Anand Mohan, another IPS officer from the AGMUT cadre, has been shifted to Delhi. Known for his dedication to upholding law and order with a visionary approach, Mohan is respected as an inspiring police officer committed to his duties.
