The multinational peacekeeping exercise ‘Khaan Quest 2026’ wrapped up at the Five Hills Training Area in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. India reiterated its dedication to global peace during the event’s closing ceremony. Major General Baasandamba Dashtseden and Lieutenant General Ganbyamba Sunrev praised the professionalism and unity shown by all participating contingents.
Bringing together troops from 18 nations, including India, the exercise aimed to boost interoperability and joint peacekeeping capabilities under the UN Peacekeeping framework. The Indian Army showcased professionalism and operational efficiency during joint training sessions and simulation exercises with partner nations. The exercise underscored India’s ongoing support for global peace, UN peacekeeping efforts, and multilateral military collaboration.
An Indian contingent from the Jat Regiment, comprising 40 troops and two female officers, took part in the opening ceremony of the 23rd edition of ‘Khaan Quest 2026’ on June 20. The ceremony was inaugurated by Mongolia’s Minister of Defence, Batlut Damba, and Lieutenant General Ganbyamba Sunrev, Chief of Defence Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces.
Over 1000 troops from 18 countries worldwide participated in the exercise, emphasizing international cooperation in peacekeeping efforts. The Indian Ambassador to Mongolia, Atul Malhari Gotsurvee, welcomed the Indian contingent and extended best wishes for their successful involvement. The previous edition of the exercise took place in Mongolia from June 14-28 last year.
Initially a bilateral event between the US and Mongolian Defence Forces in 2003, ‘Khaan Quest’ has evolved into a Multilateral Peacekeeping Exercise since 2006. The exercise highlights India’s unwavering commitment to global peacekeeping and aims to enhance operational readiness, professional exchange, mutual trust, and camaraderie among participating nations.
