The Mumbai Crime Branch has issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang for threatening Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh and demanding Rs 20 crore. Security around the actor has been increased as the Anti-Extortion Cell investigates the case.
An FIR was filed after police verified a voice note where the caller identified himself as Harichandra alias Harry Boxer. The Mumbai Police confirmed that an LOC has been issued against Harichandra alias Harry Boxer, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, for threatening Ranveer.
The threatening voice note, demanding Rs 20 crore, was sent by the sender identifying himself as Harry Boxer to Ranveer Singh’s manager. After verification by Punjab and Haryana Police, an FIR was lodged as the voice in the note matched that of Harry Boxer.
The Mumbai Cyber Police registered an FIR against Harry Boxer based on a complaint from Ranveer Singh’s manager, Vijay Subramanian. The case is under investigation in coordination with the Crime Branch’s Anti-Extortion Cell. Security measures at Ranveer’s residence have been heightened following the threats.
“Boxer” left voice notes warning of consequences if demands were not met, mentioning consequences for backing out of commitments. The second FIR against Bishnoi gang members follows a firing incident outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence on February 1. The agency investigating the case has arrested 12 individuals, including alleged shooter Deepak Sharma.
