A strategic think tank in Mumbai is organizing a seminar titled ‘Atmanirbharta in Defence: Opportunities for MSMEs’ on May 11. The event, supported by the Indian Navy, focuses on promoting self-reliance in defense manufacturing for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). It aims to showcase the growing opportunities for Indian MSMEs in the country’s defense sector.
The seminar will bring together key defense policymakers, military leaders, government officials, defense manufacturers, financial institutions, and industry experts. It will emphasize India’s drive towards self-sufficiency and indigenous production in defense. The event will highlight the significant business prospects, estimated at nearly Rs 10 lakh crore, that are expected to emerge for Indian MSMEs in the defense sector over the next decade.
Maharashtra’s Minister for Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, and Electronics, Adv. Ashish Shelar, will inaugurate the seminar and deliver the opening address. The event will also witness the release of a special publication on ‘Atmanirbharta in Defence.’ The inaugural keynote address will be given by Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, Chief of Integrated Staff, Integrated Defence Staff, followed by a panel discussion on strengthening India’s defense ecosystem.
