Left-arm spinner Shams Mulani impressed with his first List A five-wicket haul as Mumbai secured a convincing nine-wicket win over Chhattisgarh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy Elite Group C clash. Mumbai’s skipper Shardul Thakur also played a significant role by taking four wickets, causing early damage to Chhattisgarh’s batting lineup.

Captain Amandeep Khare and Ajay Mandal tried to revive Chhattisgarh’s innings with a solid partnership, but Mulani’s crucial breakthroughs halted their progress. Mulani’s exceptional bowling performance restricted Chhattisgarh to a modest total of 143 runs.

In the chase, Mumbai’s Angkrish Raghuvanshi led the way with an unbeaten 68, well-supported by Siddhesh Lad’s 48 not out. Despite an early wicket loss, Mumbai comfortably reached the target in just 24 overs, showcasing a dominant performance.
