Music composer Tanishk Bagchi has raised concerns about not receiving royalties for the song from the hit movie ‘Saiyaara’. Yash Raj Films, the production studio, has addressed these allegations by clarifying that the track was a collaborative effort among three composers: Tanishk Bagchi, Faheem Abdullah, and Arslan Nizami. The royalties for the title track have been divided equally among all three composers and will continue to be shared, as confirmed by a YRF spokesperson.
Tanishk Bagchi expressed his disappointment on Instagram, sharing that despite the song’s success, he has not been paid INR 8 lakhs in royalties. He emphasized the effort and dedication he put into the song’s creation, mentioning that the compensation he received was minimal and barely covered production costs. The composer highlighted the need for fair treatment and recognition in the music industry, stating his intention to collaborate only with those who value creativity and integrity.
In his post, Tanishk Bagchi also acknowledged the support of certain individuals involved in the film, particularly mentioning his respect for Mohit Suri and Irshad Kamil. He reflected on the challenges faced in the industry and expressed his belief in the importance of standing by one’s principles despite setbacks.
