Musician Shankar Mahadevan, accompanied by Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa, sought blessings at the Akshardham Swaminarayan temple in New Jersey, USA. Shankar shared photos on Instagram from the visit, including one with Ehsaan and Loy alongside the temple’s “swamijis”. Another set of pictures featured Shankar alone, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to start the tour with this divine experience.
The trio’s visit to the BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham temple in New Jersey, constructed between 2015 and 2023, honors Swaminarayan as the supreme form of Purushottama. Shankar Mahadevan, known for his work with the Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy trio in Bollywood, gained fame as an Indi-pop artist blending Carnatic, Hindustani, and Jazz music. His non-film album “Breathless” topped Indian music charts in 1998, and he has won a Grammy Award along with three nominations.
Ehsaan Noorani, initially a freelance guitarist for various composers, including Louis Banks and Ashok Patki, became the first Indian guitarist endorsed by Fender guitars. Loy Mendonsa, who kickstarted his career by composing for ‘The World This Week’ show, later collaborated with renowned composers like A. R. Rahman and Nadeem-Shravan, showcasing his talent on piano and keyboards.
