Hundreds of Muslim community members protested in Bhopal against the recent assault on a Muslim youth at a local hotel. The demonstrators demanded the immediate arrest of the perpetrators and criticized the police for not intervening during the incident.
Led by Bhopal City Qazi Syed Mushtaq Ali Nadvi, the protest included warnings of a city-wide shutdown if the accused were not apprehended within 24 hours. The gathering at Kaziyat premises denounced the attack and the use of offensive language during the altercation.
Qazi Nadvi emphasized that the assault not only targeted an individual but also harmed communal harmony and religious sentiments. The protesters later marched to the Police Control Room, calling for decisive action and accountability.
Congress legislators Arif Masood and Atif Aqueel, along with All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen leader Mohsin Ali, participated in the demonstration. Community representatives handed a memorandum to Bhopal Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar, urging swift arrests and disciplinary measures against negligent officers.
