In a joint operation, Narayanpur Police and the 58th battalion of BSF uncovered a hidden weapon stash belonging to Naxals in Chhattisgarh. The search, conducted in the Kohkameta police station area’s dense forests, aimed to bolster security in Naxal-free zones and prevent extremist activities. Acting on specific intelligence, security forces combed the Kachchapal forest region and found a cache of arms and ammunition hidden by the Naxals for future use.
The recovered items included rifles, a barrel launcher, live cartridges, and other ammunition. Among the seized materials were a .303 rifle, a .315 rifle, and various types of live cartridges. Additionally, security forces found an empty .303 magazine, cartridge fillers, and tracer rods at the site. All seized items have been secured for further examination.
A formal case has been registered at the Kohkameta police station, and legal action against the involved Naxal operatives is underway. The vigilance of Narayanpur Police and central security forces in the region will be sustained and intensified to ensure continued security.
Joint teams have been conducting regular search operations in vulnerable areas, leading to the consistent recovery of weapons and explosives hidden by Naxal groups. By eliminating these hidden arsenals, security forces are disrupting potential militant activities and fostering peace in the region.
Officials have lauded the coordination between district police and the BSF unit, emphasizing the importance of joint operations in upholding law and order. The local administration is committed to pressuring anti-national elements while focusing on development initiatives to gain the trust of tribal communities.
The successful operation in the Kachchapal forest is expected to discourage Naxal groups from using the area as a safe storage location for arms. Security forces urge locals to share any relevant information to neutralize remaining threats. Narayanpur district’s efforts are steadily eradicating Naxal influence, paving the way for lasting peace and progress in the region.
