A delegation from the National Defence College in New Delhi visited Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday. During the meeting, CM Mann emphasized Punjab’s significant role in the nation’s unity, its history of bravery, and communal harmony. He highlighted the state’s contributions to the armed forces, mentioning the sacrifices made by Punjab’s military leaders and soldiers for the country.
CM Mann welcomed the delegation, stating that their visit aimed to explore various aspects of Punjab, including its social, economic, and political spheres. He expressed gratitude for hosting the delegation and described Punjab as a land rich in spiritual and historical significance, known for its courageous and industrious people.
The Chief Minister praised Punjab’s youth for safeguarding the borders and the farmers for ensuring the nation’s food security. He mentioned that Punjab is renowned as the “food bowl and sword arm of India” due to its significant contributions to the country’s grain production. CM Mann also highlighted the state’s crucial role in the national food pool, with Punjab’s farmers contributing 40% of the total food grains.
