With the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections drawing near, the campaign has intensified as national leaders like Tejashwi Yadav and Arvind Kejriwal join the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance. Tejashwi Yadav is set to campaign alongside Chief Minister M.K. Stalin in Coimbatore and Tiruppur, aiming to garner support for the alliance candidates and strengthen opposition unity at the national level.
Arvind Kejriwal, the former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP Convenor, will campaign in Tamil Nadu on April 20 and 21, touring various regions, participating in rallies, and endorsing the DMK-led front. During his visit, Kejriwal plans to emphasize governance models and welfare initiatives while urging voters to support the alliance. The Election Commission has scheduled polling for the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly in a single phase on April 23, with vote counting set for May 4.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, is also expected to address a public gathering in Thuraiyur town in Tiruchirappalli district. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, vying for a renewed mandate, continues to lead the DMK campaign, highlighting his government’s accomplishments and future development plans. As the campaign gains momentum with the involvement of national leaders, Tamil Nadu gears up for the high-stakes polls on April 23.
