Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, visited Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan at Uprashtrapati Bhavan. They conversed informally on matters like governance, defence, and diplomacy, as per a Ministry of Defence official. Admiral Swaminathan gifted mementoes, including a ship model, to the Vice President during the meeting.
Earlier, on June 10, Admiral Swaminathan met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Since assuming office, he has reiterated his commitment to maintaining the Indian Navy’s operational readiness and combat effectiveness. Emphasizing ‘JAI’ – Jointness, Atmanirbharata (self-reliance), and Indigenisation, he aims to safeguard the nation’s security and economic interests.
Admiral Swaminathan took charge as the 27th Chief of the Naval Staff on May 31, succeeding Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi. Expressing humility and gratitude, he highlighted the honor of serving the Indian Navy. He stressed the Navy’s vigilance in protecting national interests amid a challenging security environment. His top priority is to ensure the Navy’s readiness to safeguard the country’s security and economic concerns.
