The Navsari Municipal Corporation has announced a significant investment of Rs 112 crore to establish a new drainage system and water supply network. This project aims to address long-standing issues such as clogged drains and inconsistent water supply in the region. The corporation’s initiative comes as a crucial step towards enhancing civic infrastructure in the area.
The newly formed Navsari Municipal Corporation, which includes the former Navsari Vijalpore Municipality area and four adjacent villages, is undertaking this major project. Residents in these areas have been grappling with challenges related to clean drinking water and inadequate drainage facilities for a considerable period. To tackle these issues comprehensively, the corporation has commenced the construction of a modern water supply and drainage network at an estimated cost of Rs 112 crore.
The project encompasses the development of essential infrastructure like water supply and drainage pipelines, overhead tanks, sewage treatment plants, and drainage pumping stations. By implementing these measures, the corporation aims to alleviate the water and sewage-related concerns of over 25,000 residents. This initiative is expected to significantly improve the health and sanitation conditions in the region, particularly benefiting children.
In addition to enhancing basic amenities, the new water supply and drainage network will contribute to making Navsari a cleaner, safer, and more modern city. The four villages integrated into the municipal corporation’s jurisdiction will also witness improvements in road infrastructure, street lighting, green spaces, and civic amenities like dustbin distribution. These efforts align with the corporation’s goal of promoting cleanliness and overall well-being in the area.
Navsari Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dev Chaudhary emphasized the corporation’s commitment to enhancing civic facilities, including drainage, roads, and water supply. The ongoing project, focusing on the comprehensive development of the newly merged areas, is progressing as per schedule. Chaudhary highlighted that the initial phase will prioritize drainage and water supply works, with the overarching aim of enhancing residents’ quality of life through improved infrastructure.
