The NCC Directorate Maharashtra has introduced a significant youth skilling and employability program known as the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS). This initiative aims to link NCC Cadets and ex-cadets with industry opportunities, equipping them with future-ready skills and career pathways. In collaboration with Lemon Tree Hotels, the program is offering 150 internship positions for eligible graduates in Maharashtra.
The first phase of the initiative involves hosting dedicated placement camps in Pune and Mumbai. The Pune camp, scheduled for June 15 at Lemon Tree Premier, will have 50 openings, while the Mumbai camp on June 16 at Lemon Tree Premier will provide 100 opportunities. These internships will provide hands-on experience in various areas such as human resources, sales, finance, and more.
Selected candidates will receive monthly stipends under the PMIS, along with mentoring and career development support. The program is a joint effort involving NCC Maharashtra, industry partners, educational institutions, and stakeholders dedicated to empowering youth. Additionally, special measures are being taken to support girl cadets with accommodation and sustenance assistance, in coordination with the Maharashtra government.
NCC Maharashtra is not only offering internships but also advancing training programs in areas like Drone Pilot Certification, Cyber Security, Disaster Management, and Civil Defence. By collaborating with corporate partners in different sectors, the Directorate aims to create a sustainable pipeline of opportunities for the youth. These initiatives align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of youth empowerment through skill development and employability.
