The NCP delegation, led by a Minister and MLAs, has submitted a memorandum to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, requesting an expedited investigation into the tragic plane crash that claimed the life of former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on January 28 in Baramati. The delegation emphasized the importance of concluding the ongoing probes by the CBI and CID promptly and releasing a comprehensive final report. Concerns were raised by the party leadership over the pace of the current investigation, stressing the necessity for transparency and technical clarity regarding the circumstances of the plane crash.
The demand for a swift investigation stems from the untimely death of the late NCP leader in a private aircraft crash under mysterious circumstances. The state government had assigned the case to the CID and initiated a parallel CBI inquiry to ensure a thorough examination. However, delays in the final report have led to speculations within political circles, prompting the NCP to press for clarity and closure for its members and the Pawar family. Chief Minister Fadnavis has assured the NCP delegation of the government’s commitment to a fair and comprehensive investigation, acknowledging the time-consuming nature of aviation probes while pledging personal oversight of the investigative progress.
NCP-SP legislator Rohit Pawar recently raised concerns about the aviation accident involving Ajit Pawar, calling for a deeper investigation into the incident. He highlighted poor visibility on the day of the crash and alleged that the pilot was pressured to take off despite adverse weather conditions. Rohit Pawar emphasized the need to examine the circumstances surrounding the pilot’s decision and the actions of the aircraft owner, V.K. Singh. He pointed to the pilot’s clear medical state and questioned the motives behind the risky takeoff, urging a thorough inquiry into the events leading to the tragic accident.
