In a strong verbal attack, Sunil Tatkare, the NCP Maharashtra state president, criticized political opponents for meddling in party matters, labeling them as “scavengers” with ulterior motives. This came after NCP SP legislator Rohit Pawar accused Tatkare and Praful Patel of trying to take over the NCP after Ajit Pawar’s sudden death. Tatkare defended Sunetra Pawar’s appointment as party president, denouncing claims of power hunger and theft of party assets.
Certain leaders allegedly sought to sideline the Pawar family and discussed merging parties immediately after Ajit Pawar’s passing, prompting Tatkare to accuse them of harboring hatred towards the family. He also questioned the motives of some Maha Vikas Aghadi members for boycotting events and highlighted past internal conflicts within the party. Tatkare emphasized unity under Sunetra Pawar’s leadership, warning against conspiracies aimed at destabilizing the NCP.
