NCP (SP) legislator Rohit Pawar expressed that the reunification of the two NCP factions would require Ajit Pawar-led NCP to demonstrate a strong stand against the BJP on matters affecting the public. He emphasized that talks of a merger currently lack substance. The NCP’s foundation day is on June 10, with significant meetings held under Sharad Pawar’s guidance.
Rohit Pawar commented on these meetings, suggesting that discussions likely involved organizational changes and plans for the foundation day. He pointed out that unless a clear stance against the BJP is established, the discontent among party workers, even after meetings with NCP leaders like Sunil Tatkare or Praful Patel, will persist.
Taking a critical stance, Rohit Pawar responded to criticism from Maval MLA Sunil Shelke, questioning the lack of support when Ajit Pawar faced challenges. He challenged Shelke to take action on CBI cases or FIRs against Ajit Pawar with the Central Government. Rohit Pawar emphasized the need for concrete actions rather than mere reminders to address these issues effectively.
In a recent development, Rohit Pawar engaged with officials from the Water Resources Department to address concerns related to the Janai-Shirsai Lift Irrigation Scheme’s operation. He highlighted farmers’ grievances, including water supply discrepancies, transit losses, inadequate rotation periods, and water tax rates. Discussions focused on resolving these issues promptly, with assurances from officials that the grievances raised will be tackled.
