The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is set to achieve a significant milestone with 12 years of continuous governance in its third consecutive term. This period has been characterized by ambitious welfare programs, economic resilience, and an enhanced global standing for India. Initiatives such as Jan Dhan accounts, Direct Benefit Transfer, Swachh Bharat, PM Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, and Ayushman Bharat have focused on ensuring dignity and opportunities for all citizens.
Under Modi 3.0, there has been a notable expansion of welfare schemes and a commitment to targeted delivery of government initiatives. The administration, since assuming power in 2014, has been praised for fostering optimism in India’s political landscape through good governance and a focus on citizen welfare. The NDA’s strong performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, securing 293 seats, reflected public expectations for stable governance, economic growth, infrastructure development, and increased job opportunities.
Despite global economic challenges, India under Modi’s leadership has maintained steady growth, recovering from the Covid-induced slowdown. The government has also bolstered India’s global presence by enhancing trade diplomacy with key nations and regional groupings, aiming to boost exports and strengthen the country’s role in global supply chains. Additionally, India has shown zero tolerance towards terrorism, responding decisively to threats and maintaining diplomatic neutrality in international relations.
The Modi government’s domestic agenda has focused on modernizing the economy and governance through structural reforms like the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. Embracing digitalization, initiatives such as “Digital India” and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) have improved governance efficiency and reduced leakages in welfare schemes. Flagship programs like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, and Ayushman Bharat have underscored the government’s commitment to social security and inclusive development.
