Leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) criticized Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee for the split within the Trinamool Congress following their defeat in the Assembly polls. The split was initiated by 58 legislators led by Ritabrata Banerjee, seeking recognition as the official block of the party in the Assembly and the principal Opposition party in the state.
JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar highlighted Mamata Banerjee’s perceived arrogance, noting that her attitude had led to party members leaving. Another JD(U) leader, Rajeev Ranjan Prasad, stated that a formal split had occurred within the Trinamool Congress, attributing the situation to Abhishek Banerjee’s dictatorial behavior.
BJP MP Dinesh Sharma criticized the Trinamool Congress for alleged corruption and misuse of power, emphasizing its focus on a single family. He specifically pointed out the exploitation by a family member for personal gain, leading to dissatisfaction among party members.
Uttar Pradesh Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar echoed similar sentiments, mentioning dissatisfaction with the party’s dictatorship and hooliganism. He highlighted a desire for change in the state, leading to leaders forming a separate faction away from the Trinamool Congress.
West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh called for the erasure of the Trinamool Congress, blaming the party’s name for the state’s troubles over the past 15 years. BJP spokesperson T.R. Sriniwas likened the Trinamool’s situation to a web series, emphasizing the need for leaders to address grassroots issues and avoid corrupt practices.
