Amid criticism from the Opposition regarding violence during the NEET-UG paper leak protest, National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders backed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s response, emphasizing the government’s quick handling of the exam irregularities. PM Modi, during the NDA’s ‘Mangal Milan’ event, highlighted that the issue of paper leaks extends beyond a single state or the Central government, calling it a national concern. The government’s prompt actions have led to the arrest of 13 individuals linked to the case.
Union Minister and Republican Party of India (A) chief Ramdas Athawale echoed the Prime Minister’s stance, stating that those responsible for the NEET exam issues must face severe punishment. Athawale emphasized the shared responsibility of both the Central and state governments in preventing such incidents during exams, underscoring the government’s support for the youth.
In response to PM Modi’s remarks, NCP MP Praful Patel commended the Prime Minister for acknowledging and praising the youth power of India. Patel emphasized the need to safeguard the future of the youth by preventing the recurrence of incidents like the NEET paper leak, highlighting the significant contributions of India’s youth across various domains.
Additionally, BJP MP Ravi Kishan emphasized PM Modi’s call for stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks to deter future occurrences that jeopardize children’s futures. However, AIMIM chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi raised concerns about the impact on students who faced difficulties or lost opportunities due to the exam irregularities, questioning the government’s response to address their challenges.
The discussions followed a student-led protest by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak incident.
