With International Yoga Day being celebrated nationwide, NDA leaders expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for promoting India’s ancient tradition globally. Union Minister J.P. Nadda highlighted PM Modi’s efforts in elevating yoga to an international level by approaching the United Nations. He emphasized the significance of yoga in uniting people of all ages.
Nadda credited PM Modi for advocating the establishment of yoga at a global level during his address at the United Nations in 2014. Following this, the UN declared June 21 as International Yoga Day, a move joined by approximately 190 countries worldwide. This initiative has seen people of all ages participating in Yoga Day celebrations globally.
Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta praised PM Modi for popularizing yoga, noting its widespread reach even to children in households. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh also participated in a yoga event in the national capital, emphasizing the importance of yoga in daily life.
In Mumbai, BJP MP Anurag Thakur highlighted the stress-relieving benefits of yoga, especially during global crises. He credited yoga for enhancing the quality of life and fostering unity among individuals of all ages. Shaina NC from Shiv Sena, participating in ‘Yoga by the Bay’ event, emphasized the health benefits of yoga in a bustling city like Mumbai.
Prime Minister Modi led a grand Yoga Day event in Kolkata, drawing a massive crowd of around 35,000 participants.
