New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Vice Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal participated in a cleaning and restoration initiative at Jantar Mantar, influenced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Mission. Chahal oversaw the removal of 60 metric tonnes of waste from the protest site, emphasizing the restoration of normal public life.
Remaining at the site throughout Saturday night, Chahal personally supervised the cleanliness operations, directing government officers to ensure prompt completion of tasks while upholding high-quality standards.
After the protest ended, NDMC teams swiftly initiated intensive cleaning, washing, and restoration efforts at various locations, including Jantar Mantar, Tolstoy Road, Sansad Marg, and Connaught Place surroundings.
Chahal’s inspection revealed that more than 500 officers and employees participated in the drive from Saturday night to Sunday afternoon, focusing on cleaning, washing, repair, and restoration of public spaces. The operation involved joint efforts from the Health and Sanitation, Civil Engineering, and Horticulture Departments.
Reviewing the completed works on Sunday afternoon, Chahal ensured that the areas were clean, safe, and fully prepared for public use. He commended the dedication of NDMC teams, highlighting their swift response and efficient execution of the cleanliness drive.
The operation, supported by various machinery and workers, successfully removed waste, cleaned roads and footpaths, repaired damaged structures, and restored greenery to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the locality.
Chahal’s interaction with sanitation workers and field staff emphasized their crucial role in maintaining public cleanliness and encouraged them to continue serving with dedication and sincerity.
