The suspicious death of a NEET aspirant at Shambhu Girls’ Hostel in Patna has led to questions regarding the state government and police’s inaction. Despite days passing since the incident, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has not reached a conclusive decision, sparking criticism and political debates. Rohini Acharya, daughter of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, has criticized the Bihar government and Patna Police for their handling of the case, highlighting the lack of progress in the investigation.
The issue has stirred political reactions, with Rohini Acharya accusing both the government and the SIT of maintaining silence on crucial investigation aspects. She expressed concerns about the directionless nature of the probe and criticized the police for presenting new, misleading theories daily. Rohini also questioned the delay in taking action against those responsible, including hostel operators and medical personnel.
Rohini Acharya further criticized the state leadership, noting the Chief Minister’s silence on the matter and the Home Minister’s formal responses that fail to address key concerns. Allegations have been made that the Bihar government and police are intentionally prolonging and diverting the investigation to protect the accused individuals. The incident occurred on January 6 at Shambhu Girls’ Hostel, where the NEET-UG aspirant was found unconscious and later succumbed to her injuries on January 11.
