Following the nationwide cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 exam due to alleged paper leaks, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken over the investigation. This move has sparked a political uproar, with Opposition leaders like Rohini Acharya criticizing the government’s handling of the situation.
Rohini Acharya, daughter of Lalu Prasad Yadav, condemned the government for its silence on the issue, emphasizing the impact on students’ futures. She questioned whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi would address the matter, given his interactions with students in programs like ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’.
Expressing concerns over the lack of action on repeated paper leaks in competitive exams, Acharya highlighted the potential consequences for India’s youth. She also shared a poster labeling the government as a “Paper Leak Government,” citing irregularities in exams like NEET-UG 2024 and 2026.
The controversy surrounding the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak has escalated into a significant political issue. As the CBI conducts its investigation, further developments are anticipated in the days ahead, intensifying both the probe and the political discourse.
The NEET-UG 2026 exam faced allegations of a paper leak on May 3, leading to its complete cancellation. NEET is a highly competitive entrance exam in India for medical courses, with approximately 23 lakh candidates appearing this year. Registrations for the re-exam will remain valid, and the new exam dates are expected to be announced by May 20.
