The upcoming Telugu comedy series ‘Super Subbu’, directed by Mallik Ram and starring Sundeep Kishan, is set to debut on Netflix India on July 2. The show marks Netflix’s first Telugu original series and follows the story of Subramanyam Chillukuri Rao, known as Subbu, who becomes a sex education officer in a village named Maakipur. Despite his lack of experience, Subbu embarks on a journey filled with humor, chaos, and meaningful conversations that challenge societal norms.
Netflix India’s Vice President of Content, Monika Shergill, described ‘Super Subbu’ as a heartwarming comedy that tackles important topics like sex education and consent through a light-hearted narrative. The series features a talented ensemble cast including Sundeep Kishan, Mithila Palkar, Murali Sharma, Maanasa Choudhary, and Brahmanandam, promising engaging performances and memorable moments.
Creator and director Mallik Ram shared that ‘Super Subbu’ aims to blend entertainment with discussions on sensitive subjects like sex education, using humor to address societal taboos.
