To enhance grassroots governance and public service accessibility, the Revenue and Disaster Management Department is launching the ‘Ama Gaanre Ama Tahasil’ (Tahasil At Doorstep) initiative. This program, as directed by Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, will involve officials visiting villages to address grievances and provide revenue services through Tahasil Camp Courts at village and Panchayat levels. Previously, individuals had to visit Tahasil offices for revenue services, but now, officials will directly engage with villagers to offer immediate solutions and services like Record of Rights corrections and demarcation.
The Minister emphasized the importance of resolving revenue-related issues promptly and ensuring efficient service delivery during a recent high-level meeting in Bhubaneswar. The initiative aims to make revenue services more accessible to all citizens, with senior officers designated as nodal officers for various districts. These officers will conduct field visits, interact with the public, and gather feedback to enhance public awareness about key revenue services.
Moreover, discussions during the meeting highlighted the need to simplify rules regarding the conversion of agricultural land classification in urban areas. The department shared that over 2.5 crore revenue services have been provided under the Odisha Right to Public Services Act in the last two years. Efforts are underway to further improve these services to better serve citizens. Additionally, plans are in place to develop and implement a new Rehabilitation and Resettlement framework for displaced persons.
