A new college building and the foundation stone for a school building were unveiled in two districts of Nepal’s western Sudurpaschim Province. The Kedar Surya Multiple Campus in Doti district, previously known as Shree Kedar Jyotipunja Multiple Campus, saw its inauguration. This campus, affiliated with Tribhuvan University, now offers Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Business Studies programs.
The college building, a double-storey structure with seven rooms on each floor, was funded under the Indian government’s High Impact Community Development Project. The project, implemented through Badikedar Rural Municipality, received praise from local stakeholders for enhancing educational facilities in the region. The campus management and Rural Municipality Chairperson expressed gratitude for the development support.
In another district, the foundation stone for a new building at Shree Maheshwar Secondary School in Kanchanpur district was laid. The school building, to be constructed with financial aid from the Indian government, is part of the High Impact Community Development Project. This initiative, aimed at improving infrastructure and educational facilities, is a key aspect of Nepal-India development cooperation. The project in Kanchanpur district marks the 11th such endeavor in the region.
The High Impact Community Development Project, previously known as Small Development Projects, supports small-scale infrastructure and community-based projects in Nepal. Since its launch in 2003, the program has facilitated numerous projects across various provinces and districts. The Indian government’s assistance, including ambulances and school buses, underscores the commitment to bolstering health and education sectors in Sudurpaschim Province and beyond.
