Newly-appointed Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar met with Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu to talk about enhancing security and maintaining law and order in the city. Anurag Kumar, who previously served as a Special Director at the Intelligence Bureau, recently took over as the new Commissioner of Delhi Police. He succeeded Satish Golcha, who handed over his responsibilities to Kumar at a formal ceremony at the Delhi Police Headquarters.
Anurag Kumar, a senior IPS officer from the AGMUT cadre with over three decades of experience in policing, administration, and intelligence work, has been entrusted with the crucial role of overseeing law enforcement in Delhi. His appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kumar’s extensive background in internal security and intelligence operations equips him well for the challenges of leading the Delhi Police force.
Having served in various key roles within the Intelligence Bureau, Anurag Kumar brings a wealth of expertise in national security, counter-terrorism strategies, intelligence analysis, and other sensitive security issues to his new position. His return to the AGMUT cadre and subsequent appointment as Delhi Police Commissioner mark a significant transition in his career, reflecting his capabilities and experience in handling complex security matters.
