A newly constructed road in Tripura’s Sepahijala district has significantly improved connectivity for several villages, providing relief to local residents who have long struggled with poor infrastructure. The road, built at an estimated cost of around Rs 6 crore, has connected at least five to six villages to nearby towns, including Melaghar, a key market hub in the region. This enhanced connectivity has reduced travel time and increased access to essential services and economic opportunities.
Mijanur Rahman, a local resident, expressed satisfaction with the development, highlighting the road’s benefits for villagers by connecting multiple settlements. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Tripura government, and the Union government for their support in facilitating the project. Previously in a dilapidated state, the road’s improved quality has made travel safer and more efficient for everyone.
Residents like Goutam Ghosh also praised the new road construction, emphasizing the difficulties faced by locals due to the poor road conditions in the area. The project has particularly benefited residents near Melaghar, strengthening the link between rural areas and the town’s main market. Improved connectivity has brought happiness to the people, making travel by various means much smoother.
The enhanced road infrastructure is expected to boost local trade and ease daily commuting for students, farmers, and small business owners.
