The death of 24-year-old Ketan Agarwal, a Pune resident from a business family, during a trek at Lohagad near Lonavala has taken a surprising turn. Initially deemed an accident, the case is now being investigated as a premeditated murder plot. Police suspicions arose after analyzing CCTV footage, call records, and technical data, leading to the registration of a murder case.
Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill disclosed that Ketan and his fiancée, Siya Goyal, were at Lohagad Fort when the incident occurred on June 18. Siya informed authorities that Ketan had fallen from the fort around 10:30 – 10:45 a.m., prompting a swift response from security personnel, police, and both families. Initial inquiries raised doubts due to conflicting circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
During the investigation, Ketan’s family emphasized his trekking expertise, casting doubt on the accident theory. Further scrutiny revealed that Siya had connections to Chetan Chaudhary, a friend, and business associate. Allegations emerged that the pair conspired to eliminate Ketan at Lohagad Fort, where he was allegedly pushed to his death, not fallen.
Authorities arrested Siya and Chetan on murder charges following their alleged confession during interrogation. The investigation remains ongoing as police delve deeper into the case to ascertain all details.
