New Zealand seamer Lea Tahuhu has retired from Women’s ODIs after a successful 15-year career. Tahuhu, New Zealand’s all-time leading ODI wicket-taker with 125 wickets, will still be available for T20Is. She will be part of the White Ferns squad for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa.
Since her ODI debut at the age of 20 in 2011, Tahuhu has played 103 ODIs for New Zealand. She expressed pride in representing her country over 100 times in ODI cricket. Tahuhu made her final ODI appearance for New Zealand at the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in India.
Tahuhu, known for her pace and competitiveness, has been a key figure in the White Ferns’ ODI bowling group. She has featured in four World Cups and was named in the ICC Women’s ODI Team of the Year in 2023. Head coach Ben Sawyer praised Tahuhu’s leadership and the impact she has had on younger bowlers in the team.
