A newlywed couple’s vacation in Mussoorie took a tragic turn when the wife was discovered dead under suspicious circumstances in a homestay room, leading to shock in the local community. The incident prompted a thorough police investigation, with evidence collected from the scene and the body sent for a post-mortem examination. Authorities are working to determine the exact cause of the woman’s death.
Police were alerted around 7 a.m. on Sunday about a woman at Kiyana Homestay in Tipridhar, Mussoorie, who was found unconscious and unresponsive in her room. Despite efforts by emergency services, the woman, identified as P. Radha Gayatri, was pronounced dead. She had traveled to Mussoorie with her husband from Delhi, where they had checked into the homestay after arriving in Rishikesh.
The husband reported that the couple had consumed alcohol before sleeping, and he discovered his wife unconscious with blood around her nose the next morning. Law enforcement officials and forensic teams conducted a thorough examination of the room, finding the deceased on the floor with bloodstains on a bedsheet. Samples and evidence were collected from the scene for further analysis, with the entire process documented through videography and photography.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the couple had recently married and were on a post-wedding vacation. The case’s sensitivity led to inquest proceedings in the presence of local authorities, with the body sent for a post-mortem examination. The cause of death remains uncertain, pending the post-mortem report and forensic analysis results. Authorities are exploring all possible angles, including natural causes and underlying health issues, in their investigation.
The deceased’s in-laws and parents have arrived in Mussoorie from different locations, with authorities awaiting further details to shed light on the tragic incident.
