The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches in Punjab and Haryana related to three terror-gangster network cases associated with Pakistani terrorist Shahzad Bhatti. Across nine districts in the two states, NIA teams searched 18 locations, examining individuals and seizing digital devices, documents, and data linked to communication networks and financial transactions. The collected evidence is undergoing scrutiny and technical examination to uncover a larger cross-border conspiracy.
Notices have been issued to certain individuals to aid the investigation into the broader conspiracy allegedly orchestrated by Bhatti. The focus of the searches was on identifying Bhatti’s associates and others involved in the terror conspiracy across the three cases. Investigations have linked Bhatti to various incidents, including a grenade attack in Jalandhar, an explosion at the Women Police Station in Sirsa, and a blast at the Baldev Nagar Police Station in Ambala.
The NIA has charged Bhatti and others in these cases, with ongoing efforts to trace every link in the terror network and ensure accountability for those involved. The agency is committed to pursuing justice and unraveling the complexities of these interconnected cases.
