The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has submitted a chargesheet against the main suspect in a Gujarat-based online terror radicalisation case. The accused, known as Faijan, is charged with plotting violent jihad, targeted killings, and advocating for the separation of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh from India. The NIA filed the chargesheet in Ahmedabad under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the Arms Act.

The case originated with the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) following Faijan’s arrest based on credible intelligence inputs. The NIA took over the investigation in March this year and officially registered it in Ahmedabad. The agency’s probe revealed Faijan’s involvement in conspiring for the secession of Kashmir and Ladakh, maintaining contact with a Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed operative, and planning targeted killings to incite communal discord.

Faijan allegedly procured a firearm and ammunition without a valid license from Uttar Pradesh for carrying out the planned killings. The NIA accused him of radicalizing vulnerable youths through social media, promoting violent jihad, and armed rebellion. He used his Instagram account, “al.Faijangaza,” to disseminate extremist content and videos inciting violence. The chargesheet was supported by incriminating digital evidence recovered from Faijan’s devices.

The NIA’s investigation is ongoing to identify other individuals involved in the conspiracy, including the alleged Pakistan-based handler directing Faijan’s actions. This case is part of the NIA’s broader inquiries into online radicalization networks in Gujarat. Earlier, the agency had charged five individuals in a separate case related to the dissemination of Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) propaganda through social media, aiming to radicalize youths and incite armed rebellion against the Indian state.
