Nikhil Gupta, who admitted guilt in a US murder-for-hire case, has agreed to surrender $15,000 in cash and two mobile phones to the US government. The consent preliminary order, approved by US District Judge Victor Marrero, involves a money judgment of $15,000 linked to the crimes outlined in the indictment.
Gupta faced charges in a three-count superseding indictment, including murder-for-hire conspiracy and money laundering conspiracy. He pleaded guilty to all charges on February 13, 2026. The forfeiture order detailed assets relinquished by Gupta, including $15,000 in US currency seized in New York and two mobile phones seized in the Czech Republic.
Federal prosecutors stated that the forfeiture is connected to the crimes listed in the indictment. Gupta is deemed jointly responsible with co-defendant Vikash Yadav for the money judgment. The United States Marshals Service is authorized to take possession of the forfeited assets.
The court directed the government to publish forfeiture notices for 30 days and notify potential third-party claimants. Any forfeited property will be used to settle the money judgment against Gupta. Prosecutors can pursue substitute assets if needed to cover the outstanding judgment amount.
