At least nine police personnel, including two Station House Officers (SHOs), lost their lives in an attack on a police post in Ziarat district of Balochistan, Pakistan. The armed assailants targeted the post on Monday night, engaging in a gunfight with the police before managing to enter the premises.
Ziarat Deputy Commissioner Abdul Qudoos Achakzai confirmed the casualties and stated that the whereabouts of five police personnel remain unknown. Additional police forces have been deployed to the site, with ongoing efforts to locate the missing officers. This incident adds to a series of attacks on law enforcement in Pakistan, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.
On July 2, two police personnel, including an additional SHO, were killed in an attack on a police patrol in Mohmand district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The assailants targeted the patrol near the Warsak Lift Canal, resulting in casualties. The police attributed the attack to Fitna al Khawarij terrorists, associated with the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
In a separate incident on June 27, four police personnel were injured in a bomb blast near Mastung district in Balochistan. The explosion occurred as their vehicle passed through the area, causing injuries and vehicle damage. SHO Dasht, Akhtar Muhammad, reported that the injured officers received medical treatment at the scene.
