Outside the office, hundreds of JD(U) supporters gathered to show their support for Nishant Kumar, raising slogans in his favor. Some workers even expressed their admiration by chanting, “How should the Chief Minister of Bihar be? He should be like Nishant Kumar.” As Nishant Kumar stepped inside, he was surrounded by workers who greeted him with garlands, indicating the growing anticipation among party members regarding his political journey.
Addressing the media, Nishant Kumar emphasized his desire to consider the party as a family, urging all party workers, MPs, and leaders to remain dedicated to serving the people. This visit to the party office is seen by political observers as the initial step towards his active involvement in JD(U) politics.
Sunil Kumar, the Education Minister of Bihar, was also present at the party office during Nishant Kumar’s visit. He mentioned that the party conducts a public interaction program every Wednesday, where citizens bring forth their concerns. Sunil Kumar clarified that he attended this program to address people’s grievances. Responding to queries about party workers advocating for Nishant Kumar as the Chief Minister, the minister acknowledged such sentiments as natural.
Nishant Kumar officially joined the JD(U) on March 8, marking his formal entry into politics. Following his induction, he sought the blessings of his father, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Sanjay Jha, the party’s national working president, welcomed him by presenting the traditional ‘gamchha’ and cap of JD(U). The induction ceremony witnessed the presence of several senior leaders, including Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, alongside numerous party workers. Nishant Kumar expressed his commitment to working diligently for the organization and continuing the development initiatives initiated by his father in Bihar over the past two decades.
